I was thinking about my brother’s wedding last month… and the music they used for their first dance. It was a very nice choice for them… very meaningful. And I thought, What music would I choose for my wedding’s first dance (if I had my way)?

You know, things get cliche because they are so good everyone wants them. Who cares, it’s your wedding! I love them all!

I had “suds in the bucket” played at my reception. i loved that song, it was really our theme song. happy tt!

I always loved the song “At Last”…when I get married again, thats the song I want to play:) Happy TT.

Great list! You may not be able to use them all for your first dance, but I know I have the best time at weddings that feature a lot of slow songs. the Tour Manager’s not much of an uptempo dancer, sad to say.

I’m I the only one vote for Love is in the Air? Fabulous song. Truly jubilant for such a happy occasion! I actually had a ceildh (trad Scottish country dance)at my wedding (as a lot of weddings do here!), and so we danced to a trad Scottish waltz. I was so terrified of tripping up. It’s not that easy to dance in such a long dress!

You can never go wrong with Unchained Melody.
If I believed in marriage, I’ve always liked No Ordinary Love by Sade. Don’t ask me why cuz I won’t have an answer. *grin*

I don’t know many of those besides “Unchained Melody,” which I liked when I was a child, but have heard too many times since then.
It’s great to get exposure to so many things I did NOT know….I’ll check some of these out; who knows?

What is it with everyone and Unchained Melody? I still think I’ll pick #2… though R will disagree… however..who has the last say in this?
We’re planning for next year.. and it probably won’t be a big hoo haw as my brother’s wedding.. just a little celebration at a chinese restaurant the next day for a reception.

i LOVE “i’ll cover you.” it’s such a sweet song. i’m also a sucker for “that’s all i ask of you” even if it is a little bit cliche.
have you heard “feels like home”? i love that song, and would definitely consider it for a first dance.
